Our mission and Operations:

The mission of Belmont Housing Authority is to provide safe, decent and sanitary housing conditions for very low-income families and to manage resources efficiently. Belmont Housing Authority promotes personal, economic and social upward mobility to give families the opportunity to make the transition from subsidized to non-subsidized housing.

The business and affairs of Belmont Housing Authority are managed by a five-person Board of Commissioners who determine the policies and regulations of Belmont Housing Authority within the confines of the stated purposes of Belmont Housing Authority contained in the Articles of Incorporation.

Members of the Board of Commissioners are appointed by the Mayor of the City of Belmont. Vacancies on the Board shall be filled by an appointment of the Mayor for the unexpired portion of the term. No commissioner may be a city official. (G.S.157, 14-234)
